‘Binnenkort te Zien’ was commissioned as an art project by the local government in Oss, the Netherlands. The project was exhibited in a nature area called Herperduin, which was disrupted at that time due to a forest transformation project. Protests and demonstrations led by the locals were fierce because vast amounts of trees were cut down. The social movement inspired Alice to create a triptych illustrating the benefits of the forest transformation. The three pieces of artwork symbolize the downfall, the rebirth and the return to an Arcadian state. The use of symbolic figures such as Angels of Death, Mother Nature, gnomes and fairies is heavily influenced by Hiëronymus Bosch’s paintings, who hails from a city near Oss. Each image was exhibited in the Herperduin forest on a 3 meters x 4 meters screen.
