London based visual artist, K-Guy courts controversy and occasional global attention with his pointed provoking art. Posted on the metropolis's streets, walls, fences and other unsuspecting outposts, he uses paste up, direct stencil and installations, plus a good measure of mischief and wit in his street messages which he then channels effectively into gallery output for a lasting statement - if not the last word. Politicians, religious leaders, fast food outlets and entire economic systems have all come under his perceptive cross-hairs, often to much discomfort. One of his most spectacular street installations was his memorial shrine to the boom economy when the markets crashed (fall 2008) - a traffic stopper for nearly three days outside The Bank Of England in the heart of London’s City that made international news.
His collaboration with The Prodigy on a limited edition print was an instant sell out and hot on it's heels was the equally fast selling iconic Coke Moss piece produced for Mutate Britain. Most recently an original sold for £5,000 at a celebrity fundraiser benefiting the homeless charity 'Shelter From The Storm'. In 2010 his striking installation ‘NO BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS’ was selected by an independent jury for the ‘No Holds Barred’ special project at Art Amsterdam 2010 to much critical acclaim. Right up to date he produced a no-punches-pulled street piece for Pope Benedict’s visit to the UK (oct. 2010), planted his 'primate take' at the perimeter of the Papal Vigil in Hyde Park.
K-Guy’s hallmark is a questioning intelligence, meticulous execution and a willingness to take risks. Not everyone gets it, for those who do his appeal is apparent and enduring. He continues his subversive missions on the street along with occasional print release and has a highly appreciated gallery career now taking him worldwide.
